Wood Wick Wisdom: Candle 101

GET COZY WITH OUR WOOD WICK CANDLE GUIDE

STEP 1: give your Wood Wick a little wiggle to loosen the wax around it

STEP 2:  Light the wood wick, hold flame to wick for 10-15 seconds

STEP 3: Burn Baby burn,

Burn for 2-3 hours first time (like warm up stretch) after that, enjoy 1-3 hours per session (self care sessions)

STEP 4: Trim Time, Trim the wood wick to 1/4 inch before each burn (like a hair cut for your candle)

Dispose of the trimmings BYE BYE crispy wood

STEP 5: Snuff out.. don't blow out - I know... I know... why; you may ask???

Blowing out candles can cause wax splatter, wick damage, soot release, and extinguishing stress.

SNUFFING OUT CANDLES IS BETTER BECAUSE:

CLEAN EXTINGUISH: gentle, smoke-free extinguishing

WICK PRESERVATION: snuffing maintains wick shape and integrity

LESS SOOT DISTURBANCE: minimizes soot release into air

FUTURE LIGHTING EASE: reduces stress on wick for next burn

Wick won't light?

Ensure wax pool reached wood wick base on first burn.

Crackling too loud?

Trim wick shorter

Smoke happening?

Trim wick, ensure proper burn time each light 1-3 hours (make sure there's no draft in the room)

Wax pool uneven?

Rotate candle occasionally during burn session as there can be many reasons for uneven burn, place setting uneven, small draft that goes unnoticed, etc..
